Founded in 2020, Janice & Josie are a mother/daughter duo that love all things arts and crafts. They are best friends, and love spending time on Pinterest and Etsy, sharing cool ideas and admiring all the beautiful works done by talented individuals throughout the world. With an empty space in Janice’s husband’s office/warehouse sitting idle for 2 years, they decided to channel their love of arts and crafts to something tangible - something fun and crafty - something the entire community could benefit from - and mostly, something wonderful!

While Josie has the artsy hand for all sorts of crafty things, including calligraphy, visual art, shoe painting, corsage making, cookie decorating and more, Janice’s background in marketing and paper goods has really brought their dream business to life.

Janice has been an avid crafter since the rubber stamp and scrapbook days of the 80s and 90s (okay she has aged herself!). She later channeled her love for crafts into an online business, and became one of the pioneers of the online wedding invitation space back in the early 2000’s. She built MyGatsby.com into a multi-million dollar company by selling her flagship Mix and Match line to brides and grooms online all over the world. She later sold her business to American Stationery, Inc. so she could spend more time with her family, but still worked for them for another 10 years, helping to rebuild three e-commerce websites with full preview personalization features, plus managing the merchandising and marketing for their wedding properties. To this day, she still gasps and squeals in delight when she sees beautiful paper goods online or in retail stores.

Surrounded by music her whole life, Josie has been playing the piano since she was 4, and is currently a student at the Orange County School of the Arts - loving every bit of her Popular Music Conservatory. Josie caught the artsy-crafty bug very early in her life. Janice remembers at 3 years old, Josie spending 4+ hours decorating her gingerbread house by herself to perfection, while everyone else was finished in 30 minutes. Josie began art lessons at 5, received her first calligraphy book at 11, and has never looked back. Recent orders include wedding envelopes and place cards, chalkboard menus, personalized art frames, shoe painting and silk corsages. In her free time, she still likes to draw, write songs, sing or curl up in bed with a good book.

Janice & Josie, 2007

When Janice and Josie aren’t busy creating something wonderful, they’re most likely enjoying family time by baking sweet treats together in the kitchen, watching the latest movie releases, or FaceTiming Josie’s older sister Julia who’s away on the East Coast in college. They can also be found sitting on the couch, binge watching TV shows and munching on Simply Cheetos White Cheddar Puffs.

Janice and Josie are thrilled and excited to start their new business together, and look forward to growing closer with the community they love, and of course…with each other.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. - Psalm 139:14
